Austin City Council MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING 4:15 Ρ.Μ. - : January 16, 1994 Mayor Todd called to order the special called meeting of the Council, noting the absence of Mayor Pro Tem Urdy and Councilmember Shea. EXECUTIVE SESSION (No Public Discussion on These Items) 1. 2. The City Council will announce that it will go into Executive Session, if necessary, pursuant to Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code to receive advice from Legal Counsel, to discuss matters of land acquisition, litigation and personnel matters. No final action will be taken on any subject or matter unless specifically listed on the agenda for this meeting. Personnel Matters Section 551.074 Discuss performance evaluation duties and assignments of Dr. Camille Cates Barnett, City Manager, relative to the operation of Brackenridge Hospital. ACTION ON THE FOLLOWING Resolution regarding the evaluation, duties and assignments of Dr. Camille Cates Barnett, City Manager, relative to the operation of Brackenridge Hospital. No action RECESS Council recessed for executive session from 4:15 P.M. to 12:55 Α.Μ. on January 17, 1994. No action was taken. Mayor Todd discussed the issue and stated the City Manager was instructed by Council to do the following: 1. Full disclosure of any additional losses at Brackenridge as soon as they can be verified and brought forth. 2. The City Manager is to spend full time on Brackenridge until the Council feels the issue has been resolved. MINUTES 1 JANUARY 16, 1994 1 3. The City Manager is to designate one of her Assistant City Managers to relieve her of some of her day to day burden. 4. The City Manager is to report back to Council no later than 30 days with a plan resolving Brackenridge Hospital. 5. Council requests the City Manager to voluntarily rescind the 4% raise given in December. Mayor Todd stated the City Manager bas "requested a day or two to consider. This item will then be posted on the Council Agenda for its proper consideration". ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 1:07 A.M., January 17, 1994, on Councilmember Reynolds' motion, Councilmember Garcia's second, 5-0 Vote, Mayor Pro Ten Urdy and Councilmember Shea absent.
