Approve execution of a contract with ABB AIR PREHEATER, INC., Garland, Texas for the purchase of parts and service to repair weld defects identified at the Decker Power Plant in the amount of $39,743. (Funding is available in the 1995-96 operating budget of the Electric Utility Department) No subcontracting opportunities were identified. Approved 16. Approve a second amendment to a contract with ADAMS & ZOTTARELLI, Austin, Texas to provide additional funding for lobbying services for the City of Austin on Electric Utility issues through the 75th Session of the Texas Legislature in an amount not to exceed $100,000, for a total contract not to exceed $545,000. (Funding is available in the 1995-96 operating budget of the Electric Utility Department.) Approved Items 13 through 16 approved on, Mayor Pro Tem Garcia's motion, Councilmember Mitchell's second, 5-0 vote, Councilmember Reynolds temporarily absent, Councilmember Shea and absent. 17. Approve the issuance of a Letter of Intent and a rebate to JPI Multifamily, Inc. for the installation of high efficiency air conditioning equipment at the Jefferson at Quarry Oaks Apartments, a 553-unit complex currently under construction at 6263 McNeil Drive, in the amount of $79,950. Energy improvements qualifying for this rebate will save an estimated 256 kilowatts at a program cost of $312 per kilowatt saved. Each high efficiency air conditioner will save the residents between $67.00 and $112.00 per cooling season in energy costs. (Funding is available in the 1995-96 operating budget of the Conservation Rebates and Incentives Fund.) Approve the issuance of a Letter of Intent and rebate to Motorola, Inc., for the installation of premium efficiency electric motors, variable frequency drive controls for the electric motors, centrifugal water-cooled chillers, building envelope, and interior lighting system, in the amount of $150,000. Installation of this equipment will save an estimated 4,025 kilowatts of electricity at a program cost of $37.27 per kilowatt saved. (Funding is available in the 1995-96 operating budget of the Conservation Rebates and Incentives Fund.)
