Austin City Council MINUTES SPECIAL CALLED MEETING MAY 5,1997 Mayor Todd called the meeting to order, noting the absence of Councilmembers Griffith and Slusher. 1. Canvass results of General Municipal Election of May 3,1997. Mayor Todd announced the results of the election: Gus Garcia, elected to Place 2. A run-off will be held for Place 5 and Place 6. 2. Consider an ordinance calling a Municipal Run-off Election for May 31, 1997. Ordinance No. 970505-A approved for a Municipal Run-off Election, May 31 between, William Spelman and Manuel Zuniga Place 5 and between Eric Mitchell and Willie C. Lewis Place 6 on, Mayor Pro Tern Garcia's motion, Councilmember Mitchell's second, 5-0 vote, Councilmembers Griffith and Slusher absent.
