Swearing in ceremonies of the newly elected Mayor, Place 2, Place 5 and Place 6 of the City Council (Oath of Office) Judge Orlinda Naranjo gave Oath of Office to Kirk Watson, Mayor; Gus Garcia, Place 2; Bill Spelman, Place 5 and Willie C. Lewis, Place 6. Mayor Watson called the meeting to order, Councilmember Griffith absent. 2. Election of Mayor Pro Tern Motion to re-elect Gus Garcia as Mayor Pro Tern on, Councilmember Goodman's motion, Councilmember Lewis' second, 6-0 vote, Councilmember Griffith absent. ADJOURNED at 5:30 p.m. Approved on this the 26th day of June, 1997, on Mayor Pro Tern Garcia's motion, Councilmember Spelman's second, 7-0 vote.
