Austin City Council MINUTES SPECIAL CALLED MEETING WORKSESSION AUGUST 20,1997 Mayor Watson called the meeting to order, noting the temporary absence of Mayor Pro Tern Garcia, Councilmember Griffith and the absence of Councilmember Spelman. CITIZENS COMMUNICATION: GENERAL PREVIEW OF ITEMS FOR NEXT COUNCIL MEETING 1. Review of Proposed Agenda Items from the City Manager for September 4, 1997. 2. Review of Proposed Agenda Items from Council for September 4, 1997. 3. Discuss and identify consent and discussion agenda items for the August 21, 1997 Council meeting agenda. (Agenda for August 21, 1997 is attached and incorporated by reference.) Items pulled for discussion are as follows: Item 15,16 and 48. 4. Set Time Certain, if necessary, for agenda items on the August 21,1997 Agenda. Item 13 set for time certain at 5:30 p.m. Aviation 5. Approve a resolution authorizing a staff briefing in executive session in accordance with Section 551.075 of the Government Code on airline negotiations, discussions with FAA on closure of Robert Mueller Municipal Airport and General Aviation. Approve a resolution placing an ordinance on the Council agenda for Monday, September 15, 1997, to adopt a tax rate of 54.26 cents per $100 assessed value for FY 1997-98. Approve a resolution to set a public hearing on the 1997-98 proposed Operating and Capital Budgets and the 1997-98 Austin Electric Utility Proposed Business Plan and Budget, including supporting tax rates, utility rates, fees and charges. The City Council may also announce it will Executive Session, if necessary, to receive advice from Legal Counsel regarding any other item on this agenda.
