Austin City Council MINUTES WORKSESSION WEDNESDAY MARCH 31. 1999 The following represents the actions taken by the Austin City Council in the order they occurred during the meeting. While the minutes are not in sequential order, all agenda items were discussed. THE CITY COUNCIL OF AUSTIN, TEXAS, CONVENED IN A MEETING AT 1:45 P.M. ON THURSDAY, MARCH 31, 1999, AT TOWN LAKE CENTER, 721 BARTON SPRINGS, FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES: Mayor Watson called the meeting to order, Council Members Griffith, Slusher and Spelman were temporarily absent. CITIZENS COMMUNICATIONS: GENERAL 1. Jim Walker - Mueller Airport Redevelopment and Neighborhoods 2. Jennifer L. Gale - Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority Absent PREVIEW OF ITEMS FOR NEXT COUNCIL MEETING 3. Review of Proposed Agenda Items from the City Manager for April 8, 1999. 4. Review of Proposed Agenda Items from Council for April 8, 1999. 5. Discuss and identify consent and discussion agenda items for the April 1, 1999 Council meeting agenda. (Agenda for April 1, 1999 is attached and incorporated by reference.) 6. Set Time Certain, if necessary, for agenda items on the April 1, 1999 Agenda. BRIEFINGS 8. Shoal Creek Hike and Bike Trail briefing Presentations were given by Jesus Olivares, Jay Ulray and Peter Reick. EXECUTIVE SESSION (No Public Discussion on These Items) Executive Session was held at 2:22 p.m. The City Council announced it would go into Executive Session, if necessary, pursuant to Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, to receive advice from Legal Counsel, to discuss matters of land acquisition, litigation and personnel matter specifically listed on this agenda. The City Council may also announce it will go into Executive Session, if necessary, to receive advice from Legal Counsel regarding any other item on this agenda. Staff Briefing - Section 551.075 9. Brief City Council on financing of Robert Mueller Municipal Airport re-development. Executive Session ended at 3:40 p.m. 7. Robert Mueller Municipal Airport re-development - presentation Presentations were given by Jim Musbach, Economic & Planning System, Roma; Jim Adams, Master Planner-Roma; Jim Stevens, Jim Walker, and Jim Robertson, Chairman of the RMMA Board. ADJOURNED at 5:10 p.m. on Council Member Slusher's motion, Council Member Spelman's second by a 6-0 vote. Council Member Griffith was absent. Approved on this the 8th day of April, 1999 on Council Member Garcia's motion, Council Member Spelman's second by a 7-0 vote.
