Austin City Council MINUTES SPECIAL CALLED MEETING NOVEMBER 8,1999 The following represents the actions taken by the Austin City Council in the order they occurred during the meeting. While the minutes are not in sequential order, all agenda items were discussed. The City Council of Austin, Texas, convened in a special called meeting on Monday, November 8,1999 in the City Manager's Conference Room, Room 304 located at 124 West 8 Street, for the following purposes. Mayor Pro Tern Goodman called the meeting to order at 12:55 p.m. Mayor Watson and Council Member Griffith were absent. (3) Appoint the Municipal court presiding judge for the remainder of the 1998-99 judicial term. (1) Create the position of Municipal Court Senior Administrative Judge. (2) Appoint the Municipal Court Senior Administrative Judge. Ordinance No. 991108-1 was approved designating Evelyn McKee to serve as the Presiding Judge of the Municipal Court for the remainder of the 1998-99 judicial term; creating the position of Municipal Court Senior Administrative Judge; and designating Penny Wilcov to serve as the Senior Administrative Judge for a period beginning November 8,1999 and ending December 31,1999 on Council Member Garcia's motion, Council Member Spelman's second by a 5-0 vote. Council Member Griffith and Mayor Watson were absent. A friendly amendment was proposed by Council Member Slusher to change the ending date from December 31,1999 to December 15,1999. The amendment was accepted by Council Member Garcia, maker of the original motion, and Council Member Spelman who seconded it. ADJOURNED at 1:15 p.m. on Council Member Slusher's motion, Council Member Garcia's second by a 5-0 vote. Mayor Watson and Council Member Griffith were absent. The minutes for the Special Called Meeting of November 8, 1999 and the minutes for the Regular Meeting of November 18, 1999 and the correction to item #50, November 4, 1999 were approved on this the 2n day of December, 1999 on Council Member Garcia's motion, Mayor Pro Tern Goodman 's second by a 6-0 vote. Council Member Lewis was absent.
