Austin City Council MINUTES SPECIAL CALLED MEETING MONDAY, OCTOBER 30,2000 The City Council of Austin, Texas, convened in a Special Called Meeting on Monday, October 30,2000, at the Riverbend Church, 4214 Capital of Texas Highway North. Ben Luc kens, Planning, Environmental and Conservation Services, and Michael Boyle, Water and Wastewater Utility, agreed to answer some questions prior to the official hearing being called to order. Mayor Pro Tern Goodman called the meeting to order at 7:46 p.m. The following members of Council were present: Mayor Pro Tern Goodman, Council Members Alvarez, Griffith, Thomas, and Wynn. 1. Public hearing for the full purpose annexation of the Davenport West Annexation Area (approximately 270 acres located on the west side of Loop 360 at the intersection of Capital of Texas Highway and Westlake Drive). Ben Luckens presented the service plan. A total of six citizens spoke. Ben Luckens addressed the questions raised by these speakers. One of the neighborhood concerns was that the permanent zoning be done quickly. He indicated that the first reading of the annexation case will be on November 30 and the second and third readings on December 14, 2000. Permanent zoning then will be considered in January 2001. The session was opened to a general question and answer period. Council Members thanked Dr. Mann for allowing the City to use Riverbend Church for the public hearing and the citizens for participating in the process. The public hearing was closed on Council Member Griffith's motion, Council Member Wynn's second by a vote 4-0. The motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:38 p.m. was approved on Council Member Griffith's motion, Council Member Wynn's second by a 4-0 vote. The minutes for regular meeting of November 2, 2000 and Special Called Meetings of October 2, 2000 and October 30, 2000 were approved on Council Member motion, Council Member second by a vote.
