Austin City Council MINUTES SPECIAL CALLED MEETING MONDAY, AUGUST 6, 2001 The City Council of Austin, Texas, convened in a regular meeting on August 6, 2001 at the South Rural Health Center, 3518 FM 973 South, Austin, Texas. Mayor Watson called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. 1. Conduct a Public Hearing on the full purpose annexation of the Del Valle area (approximately, 1120 acres extending on the east side of U.S. 183, from the existing full purpose city limits near Hergotz Lane southeastwards along U.S. 183 and north of SH 71, to the existing full purpose city limits at Falwell Lane. The presentation was made by Ben Luckens, Planning, Transportation and Sustainabilty; Commander Brad Conner, Austin Police Department; Pieter Sybersma, Austin Fire Department; Richard Harrington, Director, Emergency Medical Services; Mike Boyle, Water and Wastewater; Ed Poppitt, Street and Bridge; Alan Hughes, Public Works and Transportation; Jose Guerrera, Watershed Protection; Gregory Bolds, Health and Human Services; and Ann Hargrove, Solid Waste Services. The public hearing was closed on Council Member Slusher's motion, Council Member Griffith's second by a 4-0 vote. Council Members Alvarez, Thomas and Wynn were absent. The motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:25 p.m. was approved on Council Member Slusher's motion, Council Member Griffith's second by a 4-0 vote. Council Members Alvarez, Thomas and Wynn were absent. The amended minutes for the regular meeting of July 19, 2001, Special Called Meetings of August 2, August 6, and August 9, 2001 and the minutes for regular meeting of August 9, 2001 were approved.
