Austin City Council MINUTES WORKSESSION WEDNESDAY, MARCH 6, 2002 The following represents the actions taken by the Austin City Council in the order they occurred during the meeting. While the minutes are not in sequential order, all agenda items were discussed. The City Council of Austin, Texas convened in a Work Session on Wednesday, March 6, 2002 at One Texas Center, 505 Barton Springs Road, third floor training room, Austin, Texas. Mayor Garcia called the meeting to order at 10:06 a.m. BRIEFINGS 1. City of Austin Air Quality Program Update The presentation was made by Lisa Gordon, Assistant City Manger; Austan Librach, Director; and Fred Blood, Manager, Transportation, Planning and Sustainability 2. Balcones Canyonland Preserves Land Management Plan The presentation was made by Roger Chan, Assistant City Manager; Chris Lippe, Director, Water and Wastewater Department; Michael Heitz, Director, Watershed Protection; Junie Plummer, Property Agent, Public Works Department; and Willie Conrad, Manager, Environmental Conservation Program. 3. Convention Center Fiscal Update The presentation was made by Roger Chan, Assistant City Manager; John Stephens, Director, Financial Services; Bob Hodges, Director; Larry Anderson, Chief Financial Officer, Convention Center; and Bob Lander, President, Austin Convention and Visitors' Bureau The motion to adjourn the meeting at 12:13 p.m. was approved on Council Member Griffith's motion, Council Member Slusher's second by a 7-0 vote. The amended minutes from the regular meeting of February 14, 2002 and the minutes from the Work Session of March 6, 2002 and the regular meeting from March 7, 2002 were approved on Council Member Thomas' motion, Council Member Wynn's second by a 7-0 vote.
