Austin City Council MINUTES WORKSESSION WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17, 2002 The following represents the actions taken by the Austin City Council in the order they occurred during the meeting. While the minutes are not in sequential order, all agenda items were discussed. The City Council of Austin, Texas convened in a Work Session on Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at One Texas Center, 505 Barton Springs Road, third floor training room, Austin, Texas. Mayor Garcia called the meeting to order at 10:18 a.m. BRIEFING 1. Budget Briefing on Core Service Initiative (process/criteria to classify city services), Revenue Initiative (assessment on potential new fees and/or fee increases) and Sales Tax Update The presentation was made by Rudy Garza, Budget Officer; Vickie Schubert, Acting Finance Director; Jon Hockenyos, Texas Perspectives. 2. Staff briefing on appropriations necessary should the citizen initiative campaign finance charter amendment (Proposition 1) be approved by the voters on May 4, 2002. This item was postponed to April 18, 2002. The motion to adjourn the meeting at 12:02 p.m. was approved on Council Member Slusher's motion, Council Member Thomas' second by a 7-0 vote. The minutes from the worksession of April 17, 2002 and the regular meeting of April 18, 2002 were approved on Council Member Slusher's motion, Mayor Garcia's second by a 7-0 vote.
