Austin City Council MINUTES WORKSESSION WEDNESDAY, JUNE 26, 2002 The following represents the actions taken by the Austin City Council in the order they occurred during the meeting. All agenda items were discussed. The City Council of Austin, Texas convened in a Work Session on Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at One Texas Center, 505 Barton Springs Road, third floor training room, Austin, Texas. Mayor Garcia called the meeting to order at 10:09 a.m. 1. Presentation from the Mayor's Task Force on the Economy regarding the Austin Clean Energy Initiative, which endorses the clean energy industry as an attractive industry cluster addition to Austin's local economy. The presentation was made by Steve Ginrich and Chip Wolf, Austin Clean Energy Initiative Steering Committee. 2. Briefing on administrative process for variances from Land Development Code requirements for construction projects required to comply with an Administrative Order issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requiring the elimination of Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSOs) from the City's wastewater collection system. The presentation was made by Chris Lippe, Director, and Reynaldo Cantu, Assistant Director, Water and Wastewater; and Michael Heitz, Director, Watershed Protection Department. 3. Presentation of report concerning negotiations with Circle C Land Corp (Stratus) concerning development of approximately 1,260 acres of land in Southwest Austin, and Travis and Hays counties located generally in the Circle C area. The presentation was made by Lisa Gordon, Assistant City Manager; Less Tull, Watershed Protection; Pat Murphy, Watershed Protection; and Teri McManus, Planner, Transportation, Planning and Sustain ability. The motion to adjourn the meeting at 12:30 p.m. was approved on Council Member Slusher's motion, Council Member Wynn's second by a 6-0 vote. Council Member Thomas was off the dais. The minutes from the work session of June 26, 2002 and the regular meeting of June 27, 2002 were approved on Council Member Wynn's motion, Council Member Goodman's second on a 7-0 vote.
