MINUTES OF CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION JULY 31, 2002 Austin City Council MINUTES WORKSESSION WEDNESDAY, JULY 31,2002 The following represents the actions taken by the Austin City Council in the order they occurred during the meeting. While the minutes are not in sequential order, all agenda items were discussed. The City Council of Austin, Texas convened in a Work Session on Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at One Texas Center, 505 Barton Springs Road, third floor training room, Austin, Texas. Mayor Garcia called the meeting to order at 10:07 a.m. Budget Briefings 1. Presentation of Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2002-2003. The presentation was made by: Rudy Garza, Assistant Director, Financial Services; Vickie Schubert, Acting Director, Financial & Administrative Services; John Stephens, Acting Assistant City Manager; and Vanessa Downey-Little, Director, Human Resources. The motion to adjourn the meeting at 11:39 a.m. was approved on Council Member Thomas' motion, Mayor Garcia's second on a 6-0 vote with Mayor Pro Tern Goodman off the dais. The minutes from the work session of July 31,2002 and regular meeting of August 1,2002 were approved on Mayor Pro Tern Goodman's motion, Council Member Alvarez' second on a 4-0 vote. Council Members Dunkerley, Slusher and Wynn were off the dais.
