MINUTES OF CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION OCTOBER 2,2002 Austin City Council MINUTES WORKSESSION WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 2,2002 The following represents the actions taken by the Austin City Council in the order they occurred during the meeting. The City Council of Austin, Texas convened in a Work Session on Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at One Texas Center, SOS Barton Springs Road, 3RD Floor Training Room, Austin, Texas. Mayor Garcia called the meeting to order at 10:13 a.m. Briefings 1. Status report by the cultural arts consultant hired by the City to review the City's process for funding arts groups. The report was made by Lucille E. Dabney, Eduardo Diaz, and Marion A. McCollam from Dabney & Associates. 2. Presentation to Council on the purpose and mission of the Office of Dispute Resolution and the services it provides in resolving disputes regarding public projects or policy issues involving the City of Austin. The presentation was made by Joe Canales, Deputy City Manager, and Tracy ' Watson and Marcia Choo, Office of Dispute Resolution. The motion to adjourn the meeting at 11:42 a.m. was approved on Council Member Wynn's motion, Council Member Dunkerley's second on a 5-0 vote. Council Members Alvarez and Slusher were absent. The minutes from the work session of October 2, 2002 were approved on Council Member Slusher's motion, Council Member Thomas' second on a 7-0 vote.
