CITY COUNCIL AGENDA OCTOBER 23,2002 Austin City Council MINUTES WORK SESSION WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 23,2002 The following represents the actions taken by the Austin City Council in the order they occurred during the meeting. The City Council of Austin, Texas convened in a Work Session on Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at One Texas Center, 505 Barton Springs Road, 3s0 Floor Training Room, Austin, Texas. Mayor Garcia called the meeting to order at 10:10 a.m. Briefings 2. ' Presentation of the final report and recommendations from the Green Building Task Force charged by Council to promote increased participation in the City's Green Building Program. (Mayor Gus Garcia) The presentation was made by: Scott Johnson, Chair and Jim Walker, Vice Chairman of the Green Building Task Force. 3. Austin Energy Financial and General Manager's Report. The presentation was made by: Juan Garza, Roger Duncan, and Elaine Kuhlman. Mayor Garcia recessed the meeting at 11:06 a.m. to go into Executive Session. EXECUTIVE SESSION The City Council went into Executive Session, pursuant to Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, to receive advice from Legal Counsel, to discuss matters of land acquisition, to discuss personnel matters, to discuss or take action on a "competition matter" of the Electric Utility Department as provided for under Section 551.086, or for other reasons permitted by law as specifically listed on this agenda and to receive advice from Legal Counsel regarding any other item on this agenda. Public Power Utility Competitive Matters-Section 551.086 1. Discuss Austin Energy's proposed policy for energy risk management. The Executive Session ended and Mayor Garcia called the meeting back to order at 11:52 a.m. 01/22/03 2:38 PM CITY COUNCIL AGENDA 2 OCTOBER 23,2002 The motion to adjourn the meeting at 11:55 a.m. was approved on Council Member Slusher's motion, Council Member Alverez' second on a 6-0 vote. Council Member Dunkerley was absent. The minutes from October 23,2002 were approved on October 31,2002 on Council Member Slusher's motion, Mayor Pro Tern Goodman's second on a 7-0 vote.
