MINUTES OF CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION OCTOBER 30,2002 Austin City Council MINUTES WORKSESSION WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 30,2002 The following represents the actions taken by the Austin City Council in the order they occurred during the meeting. The City Council of Austin, Texas convened in a Work Session on Wednesday, October 30, 2002 at One Texas Center, 505 Barton Springs Road, 3RD Floor Training Room, Austin, Texas. Mayor Garcia called the meeting to order at 10:08 a.m. Briefings 1. Update on the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Austin's activities, accomplishments and goals related to acquisition, relocation and property disposition in the East 11th and 12th Streets Urban Renewal Area and other renewal areas. The presentation was made by Ben M. Sifuentes, Chairman of the Board. 2. Presentation by members of the Hospital District Steering Committee regarding community effort to form a hospital/healthcare district. This item was postponed to November 6,2002. 3. Briefing on the funding options for constructing the Waller Creek tunnel and on alternate options for use of the related bond proceeds. The presentation was made by John Stephens, Acting Assistant City Manager, and Mike Heitz, Director, Watershed Protection & Development Review. The motion to adjourn the meeting at 11:31 a.m. was approved on Council Member Slusher's motion, Council Member Wynn's second on a 6-0 vote. Council Member Thomas was absent. The minutes for October 30, 2002 were approved on November 7, 2002 on Council Member Wynn's motion, Council Member Slusher's second on a 7-0 vote.
