CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION JANUARY 8,2003 Austin City Council MINUTES WORKSESSION WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 8,2003 The following represents the actions taken by the Austin City Council in the order they occurred during the meeting. The City Council of Austin, Texas convened in a Work Session on Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at One Texas Center, 505 Barton Springs Road, 3rd Floor Training Room, Austin, Texas. Mayor Garcia called the meeting to order at 10:10 a.m. Briefings 1. Presentation by Office of the Police Monitor regarding performance and activities of the office during its first 11 months. The presentation was made by Iris Jones, Police Monitor. 2. Briefing on the conference "Housing Matters - A Future Search Planning Retreat" attended by Mayor Pro Tern Goodman. The presentation was made by Karen Paup, Texas Low Income Housing Information Service; Sarah Dale Anderson, Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs; Standish Meecham, University of Texas Austin; and Joyce Pohlman, JP Results. The motion to adjourn the meeting at 12:05 was approved on Council Member Thomas' motion, Council Member Alvarez's second on a 5-0 vote Council members Slusher and Wynn were absent. The minutes for the Worksession of January 8,2003 were approved on January 16,2003 on Council Member Wynn's motion, Council Member Thomas' second on a 7-0 vote. 01/21/03 12:54 PM
