CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION JANUARY 15, 2003 Austin City Council MINUTES WORKSESSION WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 15,2003 The following represents the actions taken by the Austin City Council in the order they occurred during the meeting. The City Council of Austin, Texas convened in a Work Session on Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at One Texas Center, 505 Barton Springs Road, 3rd Floor Training Room, Austin, Texas. Mayor Garcia called the meeting to order at 10:01 a.m. Mayor Garcia recessed the Work Session at 10:02 a.m. to go into the Executive Session. EXECUTIVE SESSION Public Power Utility Competitive Matters-Section 551.086 1. Discuss competitive strategies and financial planning issues for Austin Energy. Executive Session ended at 11:00 a.m. Mayor Garcia called the Worksession back to order at 11:02 a.m. Briefings 2. Presentation of Austin Energy's General Manager's Report and discussion of environmental policy issues. The presentation was made by Toby Hammett Futrell, City Manager, and Juan Garza, General Manager, and Roger Duncan, Vice President, Austin Energy. 3. Briefing on the financial outlook of the General Fund (Budget Office). The presentation was made by Toby Hammett Futrell, City Manager, and Rudy Garza, Budget Officer. The motion to adjourn the meeting at 12:08 p.m. was approved on Council Member Wynii's motion, Council Member Dimkerley's second on a 7-0 vote. The minutes for the Work Session of January 15, 2003 were approved on January 30, 2003 on Council Member Thomas' motion, Council Member Dimkerley's second on a 7-0 vote.
