CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26,2003 Austin City Council MINUTES WORK SESSION WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26,2003 The following represents the actions taken by the Austin City Council in the order they occurred during the meeting. The City Council of Austin, Texas convened in a Work Session on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at One Texas Center, 505 Barton Springs Road, 3rd Floor Training Room, Austin, Texas. Mayor Garcia called the meeting to order at 10:07 a.m. BRIEFINGS 2. Update by the Commission on Immigrant Affairs on their goals and accomplishments including upcoming Immigrant Recognition Event and the support of House Bill 57. Luis Plascencia, Chair of the Commission on Immigrant Affairs; and Snahal Patel, Julien Ross, and Leo Anchondo, Commissioners; and Austin Dullnig, Human Rights Commissioner, made the presentation. 3. Update on debt planning by Austin Energy. The presentation was made by Juan Garza, General Manager, and Elaine Kuhlman, Vice President of Finance, of Austin Energy. Mayor Garcia recessed the Work Session at 11:30 a.m. to go into the Executive Session. EXECUTIVE SESSION Public Power Utility Competitive Matters - Section 551.086 1. Discuss generation planning and financial planning issues for Austin Energy. Executive Session ended at 12:30 a.m. The motion to adjourn the meeting at 12:33 a.m. was approved on Council Member Slusher's motion, Council Member Alvarez' second on a 4-0 vote. Mayor Garcia and Council Member Wynn were off the dais. Council Member Thomas was absent.
