CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9,2003 Austin City Council MINUTES WORKSESSION WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9,2003 The following represents the actions taken by the Austin City Council in the order they occurred during the meeting. The City Council of Austin, Texas convened in a Work Session on Wednesday, April 9,2003 at One Texas Center, 505 Barton Springs Road, 3rd Floor Training Room, Austin, Texas. Mayor Garcia called the meeting to order at 10:02 a.m. PREVIEW OF ITEMS FOR NEXT WORKSESSION BRIEFINGS 1. Report by the Zoning and Platting Commission on its goals and accomplishments. The presentation was made by Betty Baker, Zoning and Platting Commission Chair and Commissioners. 2. Report from the Mayor's Task Force on the Economy on the recommendations for a comprehensive economic development policy. The presentation was made by Council Members Wynn, and Dunkerley, John Hockenyos, Texas Perspectives Inc., Sue Edwards, Director, Redevelopment Services, Margo Weisz, Austin Community Development Corportion (CDC), Randall Kempner, Prosperity Strategies Inc., and Mike Rollins, Chamber of Commerce. The motion to adjourn the meeting at 12:01 p.m. was approved on Council Member Slusher's motion, Council Member Wynn's second on a 7-0 vote. The minutes for the work session of April 9, 2003 were approved on April 24, 2003 on Council Member Alvarez' motion, Council Member D linker ley's second on a 6-0 vote. Mayor Garcia was absent.
