>> Houston: We're out of closed session. And in closed session we interviewed several excellent candidates for the position of the board of manager of central health. Really incredible people offering to provide a public service to the community that we all serve and love. And it's such a great opportunity for us to have these conversations with the individuals who offer themselves. I would like to see if we have a motion to nominate Dr. Charles bell to the board of central managers. >> I'll make that motion. >> Houston: Councilmember troxclair makes the motion. >> Tovo: I will second that and just add to the chair's comments, we really had an excellent, an excellent group of candidates and I really look forward to seeing all of them serve in some capacity within our city and community. Many are serving in many capacity, but if we have many other ones to consider, then I hope they will do so. >> Troxclair: And I'll echo the thoughts of mayor pro tem tovo. We had a really difficult decision as we always do, but it's encouraging to know how many people in Austin are so well qualified and care about our community so deeply that they're willing to not just dedicate they're time to be here today and to explore the opportunity, but also willing to contribute significant volunteer hours if they're chosen. So thank you to everybody who came. >> Houston: And they were also very passionate about access to health care for vulnerable populations. Everybody was on point on how important the role of central health was in the delivery of health care services to those who are vulnerable. So we're ready for the question? All in favor, let it be known by saying aye?
[12:49:19 PM]
>> Aye. >> Houston: It's unanimous on the dais. By way of notice, councilmember Garza had to leave so she is off the dais, but it is unanimous. And that will be our recommendation to the council on next Thursday, June the 23rd. This meeting is now recessed -- adjourned, 12:49
