Councilmember Renteria. >> Renteria: Gentlemen, mayor, and I really want to ank my colleagues that this has been -- this has been -- something that I have worked on for I guess 13 years now. You know, and it's like a dream come true for me that living all my life in east Austin and seeing the gentrification that was going on and to be able to convince my colleagues and also our -- I Reay want to give a shout out T our state rep Eddie Rodriguez for passing this legiation. You know, it -- we struggled with that for ten yea even before the city adisappointed adopted it. It was a big struggle and with the gentrification, we knew we needed to start having resources to reinvest in east Austin district. And we did it. I really want to thank y'all. This is something that, you know, it's really a godsend because it's going to HP so many people in my district there and in district 1. [11:11:46 AM] This moneyill be able to be reinvested into nonprofits to create affordable housing that is desperately needed, but not only jus that, it's going to be able to keep the culture that we grew up with. You know, we're going to be able to provide housgor people of color, you know, and hoping we can U this money to help retn Tai people that grew up inhe T neighborhood.
