Item no. 1, approval of minutes. Do I have a motion to approve the minutes for the August 31st, 2020 meeting? vote. Item no. 2 discussion and possible action, both items will be taken up during the executive session. We have one item for discussion and possible action. Discussion of the selection of members to the sobering center local government corporation board of directors. Of the committee will take up this item during executive session. We also would normally do briefings, but I don't believe we have any presenters on the agenda and we will now move to the executive session where the committee will take up the item I mentioned earlier. That's item no. 2 to discuss the selection of members to the -- to the -- members to the sobering center local government corporation board of directors. Personnel matters, section 551.074 of the government code. The time is now 10:10 A.M. And if there's no objection to going into executive session, the health and human services cmittee will go into the executive session hearing -- I'm sorry. I'm toggling between pages, so I'm assuming there was no objection.

>> During executive session, we tis cussed the following the selection of members to the sobering center local government corporation board of directors and the appointment of members to the central health board of managers. >> Sorry, I made you echo. I was in here twice. Sorry. I was creating that echoy for you. >> It wasn't the echo. It was... >> Okay. Colleagues, would anybody like to make a motion? Mayor pro tem Garza? >> Garza: I move that we nominate -- recommend else Boston for the sobering center.
[12:09:02 PM]
>> Thank you. Would anybody like to second this motion? >> So the motion is made my mayor pro tem Garza and seconded by councilmember kitchen. In which case all in favor? >> And if I could just say a quick thing, which I'm sure you were probably going to say, thanking all the applicants. These are always incredibly hard decisions. And I think the chair's going to talk about other opportunities for the applicants. >> I appreciate you saying that on my behalf. And yes, absolutely. There will be another position that comes open and it's going to be a joint position between the city and the county, so I look forward to people continuing to express their interest and their willingness to serve. And with that, I believe that was a unanimous vote for. Elizabeth Boston.
[12:10:02 PM]
I'd also offer the opportunity now for any of my other colleagues if you'd like to say anything. Otherwise, I believe that might be the final item. >> I was just going to say only in Austin do we have brief recesses for allergy problems. >> It's a problem. Okay. So with that, future items, does the committee have any items that they would like to identify? Okay. So as a reminder, the next hhsc meeting will be on October 14th, 2020. And with that, if there's no objection, we are adjourned at 12:10 P.M.
