This is the city council special called meeting to canvass the election runoff. This meeting is being held remotely through webex. We have a necessary quorum of the Austin city council to move forward with this meeting. [12:05:00 PM] Actually, it only requires two people to serve as a quorum for this type of meeting. So we can proceed. We continue to meet as I said virtually, due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic as allowed by the governor's emergency declaration. And related suspension of certain open meetings act status. We're now going to take up item number 1 so approve a resolution canvassing the result of the December 15, 2020 runoff. In that runoff election the returns of the election show that as reported by the clerk, that in district 6 race there were 7295 votes for James Jimmy Flannigan, 7929 votes for Mackenzie Kelly, so she received the majority of votes for the district 6 position. In the district 10 race [12:06:03 PM] there were 12,024 votes for Alison alter. With Alison alter receiving a sort of all votes -- majority of all votes cast for district 10. Is there anyone registered to speak on this item? >> No, there are no speakers. >> Mayor Adler: Since there are no speakers I will entertain a motion on item 21 to approve the canvassing of the returns from the December 15, 2020, declaring Mackenzie Kelly as elected in district 6 and Alison alter in district 10 is elected. Is there a motion? Councilmember kitchen makes that motion S there a second to the motion? >> Tovo: Mayor, I second that. >> Mayor Adler: Councilmember tovo seconds that motion. It's been moved and seconded. Is there any further discussion? All in favor please say aye? [Chorus of ayes]. >> Mayor Adler: And with [12:07:03 PM] councilmembers tovo, me, kitchen, Casar and alter here, -- >> Tovo: Councilmember Ellis is here. >> Mayor Adler: And councilmember Ellis as well. Pio votes yes, Paige votes yes. All those present voting yes, this motion passes. And the election is canvassed. Congratulations to councilmember alter and councilmember-elect Kelly. Those are all the things that we need to do in this service. So as a council we have actually earned the end of the year. We'll gather together to swear in new councilmembers the first week in January. But until then unless anybody has something else, at 12:07, this meeting is adjourned.
