This is the city council special called meeting to canvass the election runoff. This meeting is being held remotely through webex. We have a necessary quorum of the Austin city council to move forward with this meeting. [12:05:00 PM] Actually, it only requires two people to serve as a quorum for this type of meeting. So we can proceed. We continue to meet as I said virtually, due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic as allowed by the governor's emergency declaration. And related suspension of certain open meetings act status. We're now going to take up item number 1 so approve a resolution canvassing the result of the December 15, 2020 runoff. In that runoff election the returns of the election show that as reported by the clerk, that in district 6 race there were 7295 votes for James Jimmy Flannigan, 7929 votes for Mackenzie Kelly, so she received the majority of votes for the district 6 position. In the district 10 race [12:06:03 PM] there were 12,024 votes for Alison alter. With Alison alter receiving a sort of all votes -- majority of all votes cast for district 10. Is there anyone registered to speak on this item? >> No, there are no speakers. >> Mayor Adler: Since there are no speakers I will entertain a motion on item 21 to approve the canvassing of the returns from the December 15, 2020, declaring Mackenzie Kelly as elected in district 6 and Alison alter in district 10 is elected.
