For the official record of actions of the meeting, please refer to the Approved Minutes. [2:03:41 PM] >> Alter:I am Alison alter, it's 2:03 P.M. And I would like to convene this member with councilmember pool and councilmember tovo on the dais. The purpose of this special called meeting is for us to interview the appointees for the municipal civil service commission. So we will move in a second to the executive session to do that. And then afterwards we will come back out and assuming that you want to make recommendations to the council for appointments, we will come back out to vote on those, that recommendation. So the committee will now, unless there's any objections, the committee will now go into closed session to take up one item, pursuant to sections 551.0774 of the personnel code to discuss personnel items for the appointment to the municipal civil service. Any objection to going into executive session on the item announced? [2:04:41 PM] Hearing none, the committee will now go into executive session. [2:42:19 PM] . . . . [4:03:55 PM] >> Through. My name is Alison alter and I'm chair of the audit and finance committee. We're out of closed session. In closed session we took up and discussed personal matters related to item 2. It is now 4:04 P.M. On April 13th. I want to thank all of the candidates that put their names in to serve on the municipal civil service commission. This is truly a labor of love for the city. It is an enormous commitment. I think it's the biggest commitment of all of our volunteer opportunities, so thank you to everybody who put their name in. We had a great pool of candidates, so it was a really difficult decision, and we have decided to move forward with three new members, two will serve full tems and one will finish out a term of a very long standing and dedicated member of the committee, Pamela Lancaster. And we will put this forward [4:04:57 PM] to the council for a vote, hopefully at the next meeting. For those of you who applied and were not chosen at this point, I want to point out that we will have at least one opening in may of 2022, and in my experience, I've seen that we've had some folks who have been willing to apply more than once and the second time may have been the charm. So please consider that moving forward. This was a really tough decision. I want to thank staff for pulling together a great pool of candidates. So what the committee would like to put forward is -- and I'll just make the motion to make it easier, and if I can get a second, that would be great. We would like to move forward a motion to appoint Mckenzie Frazier and Andy Mormon to the new terms and Kevin Mullin to the partial term that would be fulfilling the remainder of Pamela Lancaster's position. I hope that Mrs. Lancaster and [4:05:57 PM] any of our other commission members who are leaving will take some time to help initiate our new members and onboard them as well. So if I have a second for that motion? Councilmember Kelly. All those in favor? That is unanimous on the dais. Councilmember tovo and mayor Adler had to run to a 4:00 meeting but they were also in our executive session for this decision. I think that concludes our business. Clerk, is there anything else that we need to do today on this matter? >> Just another thank you to everybody. >> Alter: Yes, thank you to the candidates and to our staff. So with that, that motion passing unanimous mousily. It is 4:06 P.M. And I will end this meeting of the audit and finance committee. Thank you so much.
