[1:57:49 PM] [2:00:06 PM] >> Mayor Adler: Go ahead and convene the meeting, there is the necessary quorum of the city of Austin city council which I think is two people, for this purpose, of canvassing. I'm going to go ahead and call this meeting to order. And we have 50% more than the number of people that we need. In fact, we have several times the number we need. So with more than the necessary quorum, I call this meeting to order, Monday, November 15, 2021, 2 P.M., we're meeting virtually due to the on going covid pandemic and as allowed by the governor's emergency declaration and the related suspension of certain open meeting statutes. Is that still in place. We're fine, and if not, we're fine. As you know, under state law only two council members are necessary for a quorum to canvas an election. We will now take up an item [2:01:08 PM] number 1, in the November second election, the returns of the election show, 49,644 votes for, and 106,413 votes against proposition a. Also, on proposition B, the vote was 110,995 votes for, and 40,481 votes against that proposition B. Before we take a motion, I want to know if there's anyone here registered to speak on this item. The clerk tells me no. And there being none, then, I would entertain a motion to approve the resolution, canvassing and accepting the returns for the November 2, special municipal elections, declaring that proposition B is adopted and proposition a is not adopted. [2:02:09 PM] Councilmember pool makes that motion. Seconded by councilmember Ellis. Is there any discussion on the dais? Seeing no discussion, let's go ahead and take a vote. All those in favor please say aye. Okay. Is there any nays? So let the record reflect that councilmembers tovo, Ellis, pool, and I voted aye. And also we have councilmember Renteria and councilmember alter with us, also voting aye. The record will reflect that. The vote is adopted, it passes. On that vote, and I'm going to adjourn the meeting, then, here at 4 minutes after 2:00. This meeting is adjourned. [2:03:14 PM]
