[4:05:46 PM]
Fine to order meeting in the public health committee. Today, at. 405 pm we have, on the diets. We have council member harper-madison and myself and then, virtually we have mayor Steve Adler and council member Kathy tovo our chair, so we're going to take up the first item, which is approval of the minutes. Motion. To so moved by council member Natasha harper-madison, second by council member tovo all in favor. Unanimous. With the minute second item is a, the public health committee annual schedule. So do we have any comments or anyone want to move the schedule? It's on the back
[4:06:47 PM]
of your packet. Council member tovo. I'll move approval of it. You have a second seconded by mayor Edler. Okay all in favor of the meeting dates. Unanimous. And council member kitchen. I'll just acknowledge that you know, three of us are rolling off this committee. And so it's probably one of the first direction. I mean, one of the first points of action that the new committee will want to take is to revisit the meeting dates, but at least this will afford an opportunity for them to have something on the calendar. Yes, it puts the second Wednesdays of the month on the cat calendar, with the first one being February, 8th. Okay? Art the next item is, discussion impossible action to fill a vacancy for a director on the central health board of managers and we're gonna go into executive session for that for personnel item. I don't have
[4:07:47 PM]
exactly what we need to say. Except that, well, now we could give me two minutes. I'm going to see if I can find it and get it to you. I apologize that I didn't have that in advance. The mayor probably has it memorized if we want to just let him do that. And while it's okay to mention the legal statute, it's not required. Mhm. Okay, so shall I. Just, shall I just say that we are going to now take up an item in executive session that relates to interviewing for a vacancy for a director on the central health board of managers? That work works. What's the item number? It's Adam number. Four is the executive session. That works, okay? Alright. We got to go into remote or shake him down in person. I think we're scared of her remote. Were scheduled for
[4:08:48 PM]
remote mayor, okay. All right. Well let's just give us all about five minutes to. I think our first interview is in two minutes, so is that correct, Kathy? Yes, I believe so. And I did find the script. So. I think we've probably said it. I think you've satisfied it you want. You might want to just ask if there are any objections to going into executive session on the item announced any objections to going into executives. No, no objectives. Okay so, we're gonna now turn to the, to the virtual executive session, so I'm going to go back upstairs and do that. See you all there, okay?
[5:28:41 PM]
I don't know Vanessa's trying to join us or Vanessa's on. So. We are out of closed session in closed session. We discuss personnel matters related to item number three. I think here comes from afar. Alright I guess we'll go ahead and proceed. Kathy, do you wanna take it back? Or shall I keep going? If you would keep going here. Thank you. Thanks so we now have item number two, which
[5:29:41 PM]
is discussion and possible action to fill a vacancy for director on the central health board of managers. Do we have emotion? Or anybody want to make a call? Somebody else, okay? Councilor Fuentes. Thank you. I would like to make a motion to recommend Manuel martin as our recommendation to city council for the board nomination to serve on the central health board of managers, okay? We have a second I've never told us seconds. Anyone one want to make a comment? Any comments? We were lucky to have some real good applicants in the in the pool, and I appreciate the opportunity to interview them all, but he stood out a little bit more, and
[5:30:41 PM]
I think he'll be great. Okay? Any other comments. Remember tovo just to underscore what the mayor said. I think we're really fortunate to live in the city. Where we have so many talented people who apply for these kinds of spots, and today's finalists were all really well qualified and broad. Different different kinds of experience and expertise. And so I want to thank them. I want to thank everyone who applied but also especially thank the finalists for today, and I fully support the recommendation that we're living forward with. Okay? And I would just add my comments to I appreciate. All three of our applicants. I encourage them to remain involved. As I know, they will and already are, and, I fully support moving forward with the recommendation from Mr martin. So I think we may be ready to make we have a motion on the table in a second. So all in favor of making a
[5:31:42 PM]
recommendation to the full city council to appoint Mr martin to this central health board of managers, please raise your hands. Because unanimous on the dice. Wright. I think. I think that closes us out. I'm hoping that that means that we can make that recommendation for this Thursday's agenda. Council member tovo or yes, I see thumbs up. Okay, great. All right. I believe that concludes our business today. And I will. Adjourn our meeting of the public health committee. At 5 30. Thank you, everybody. Thank you very much. And council member kitchen. I'm sorry if I missed it, but did you read the script when you came out of it? Yes I did. Ok, fabulous. Thanks again for running. Eating that sure appreciate it. Alright. Thanks, everybody.
