On April 18th, 2024. With that, I will turn it to the, staff. >> Good morning, Mr. President. Madam vice president, board of directors, my name is Jamie may. I'm the housing and community development officer for the housing department, I here to bring your, agenda for the Austin housing public facilities corporation, meeting of today, April 18th. You have one item on your agenda. It is a public hearing for a issuance of private activity bonds for escuela nueva, this is a property developed by general Guadalupe neighborhood development center, and, this will be, for a $35 million. I believe, issuance of private activity bonds. I'm happy to answer any questions. And I [11:25:53 AM] answer any questions. I am the assistant executive director at Guadalupe neighborhood development corporation, thanks to council and the mayor for hearing my comments, I'm just here to speak [11:26:54 AM] comments, I'm just here to speak on agenda item 60, which is our escuela nueva project. It'll be 114 units of multifamily affordable housing in the montopolis neighborhood, with a first floor preschool in partnership with escuela montessori de montopolis. And we're just really excited about this project moving forward. We've been working on it since 2018 and our, exd to work with Austin housing finance corporation and the state to move the tax credits forward and get some affordable housing built. So just wanted to say that I was here and can answer any questions about the project and appreciate all the support we've had from the city. Thank you. >> Any questions? Honorable council members, my name is Susie gutiérrez Plyler, and I'm a born and raised native austinite I'm here today also to speak in support of the escuela nueva partnership project. I've [11:27:56 AM] nueva partnership project. I've been a board member of escuela for 20 years and have seen many of the changes that have had a tremendous impact on that community, especially in regards to affordable child care and displacement of families in that community, this partnership with Guadalupe neighborhood development corporation addresses both of these issues, school will remain if this goes through. Will remain without disruption of child care services during the construction phases of this project. And you know, we'll also not only give the school a new state of the art building, but also, provide housing, affordable Hou for, young families and, and senior citizens all the way up the gamut. So so, I'm grateful for your support. The support from the partners. And, thank you very much for your time. >> Thank you.
