I will call to order the special called meeting of the Austin city council on Tuesday, December 10th, 2020 for it's 9:00 in the morning. We are meeting in the city council chambers, which are located in city hall at 301 west second street in Austin, Texas. And we have a quorum of the Austin city council present. A couple of members are also joining us virtually. Members, now that I've called the order the meeting, what I'm going to do is just quickly walk through the day because there's more than one meeting. Meeting today. This is the special called meeting of the Austin city council. We have two agenda items, and we'll take those agenda items up, including a public hearing on the tirz. P tpid the tpid. And we will take that, have that public hearing. When we complete the special called meeting, we will adjourn that meeting. And I will then call to order a work session of

call to order a work session of the Austin city council on that. As you know, from the agenda that has been posted, there were a number of items. But item number two is what we will take up first, which is related to the Austin energy generation plan. Then item number 83 had been it was an item that had been pulled by council member Ellis and council member, because item number 83 is being postponed from the Thursday agenda, council member Ellis has indicated that there's not a need to pull that item and have the discussion. So unless there's objection, I'll ask for it at the time. But unless there's objection, we will not bring up item number 83. However, if there are anybody that signed up to speak and they want to speak will allow that, we will then have the Wu briefing, the winter weather briefing, and the manager sent out an email yesterday asking the climate equity plan briefing be done at a later date. And again, unless there's objection,

again, unless there's objection, that item will not be part of the work session. If somebody is signed up to speak, we will have the opportunity to speak. And then following that, we will have some, we will have some discussion of farewell to some of our colleagues. So with that, we will now go to the special called we're in the special called meeting. I have called that to order item number one on the special called meeting members, is an item related to the election. And I will first ask if there's anyone that has any questions with regard to this item. Is there anyone signed up to speak on item number one of the special called meeting? No mayor, no one has signed up to speak on item number one. So the chair will entertain a motion to approve item number one. The mayor pro tem moves to approve. Is there a second? That will take us to item number two, which is the public hearing that I've previously have described related to the tpid. It will be for us to conduct a public hearing relating to the establishment of the Austin tourism public improvement district, composed of hotels with 100 or more rooms, and the advisability of the improvement as authorized by Texas local government code chapter 372 members. We will not vote on this today. We will have another public hearing on this on Thursday. And at that point in time, we will address any objections and we will vote on the item. I will turn to the city clerk and ask if there is anyone signed up to speak. Well, without objection, we will open the public hearing on item number two. The public hearing is now open.
