Good morning everybody. I am Leslie pool, mayor pro tem of the city of Austin, and we are here on Monday, December 23rd, 2024. It is 10 A.M. And I will call this special called meeting to order here at city hall chambers. I am joined by council member zo qadri and convening this special called meeting. Under state law, only two council members are necessary for a quorum to canvass an election, there being the necessary quorum of the city of Austin city council to canvass the election. I call this meeting to order. Monday, December 23rd, 2024 at 10 A.M. And we are meeting in city council chambers, 301 west second street. Do we have anybody attending virtually? I think it is just council member zo qadri and me. And let's see. Okay. We will now take up item number one to approve a

number one to approve a resoluon canvasing the results of the December 14th, 2024 runoff election for council member district seven, and I will read the results into the record in the runoff election. The returns of the election show there were 4211 votes for Gary L Bledsoe and 4420 votes for Mike Siegel, with Mike Siegel receiving a majority of all votes cast for city council member. District seven. Before we take the motion, I will ask the clerk, is anyone signed up to speak on this item? >> No, mayor pro tem, we do not have any speakers. >> V good. Thank you. There being none, I'll entertain a motion on item one. And I recognize council member zo qadri who makes the motion to approve the canvass of these votes. And I will second that

votes. And I will second that motion. I'm going to read the motion to make sure we have it correct. Council member zo qadri moves that we approve the resolution, canvasing and accepting the returns for the December 14th, 2024 runoff election, declaring Mike Siegel is elected to district seven. We have that motion by council member zo qadri seconded by the mayor pro tem me. And is there any further discussion? No further discussion. All in favor say I, I, I and all opposed say no. That being unanimous as an I. The motion passes on a vote of 2 to 0, and the resolution is approved. And that concludes the business that we had in front of us today.
