Tuesday, January 27, 2026 Housing and Planning Committee Special Called Meeting

Here's a summary of what the Austin City Council's Housing and Planning Committee addressed at its special meeting:

  • The Housing and Planning Committee held a special meeting that primarily focused on internal administrative matters rather than new policy decisions.
  • The committee offered an opportunity for up to five members of the public to speak on topics not specifically listed on the meeting's agenda.
  • Members considered approving the minutes from their prior meeting, which took place on September 16, 2025.
  • A key part of the meeting involved discussing and potentially deciding on the committee's official meeting schedule for the entire 2026 calendar year.
  • The committee also began planning for future sessions by identifying potential topics and items for later discussion.
